A moment that needs ALL of us

One week ago, I officially announced that I was once again running for reelection to Congress and I want to thank so many of you who have shown your support during that time.

Whether it was an email, social media post, or a contribution, your support for my efforts means more than you know.

We have all been through a rough few years. Not only with the global pandemic but also watching repeated attacks on our democracy, a housing crisis that seems to be getting worse every day, a climate emergency that needs immediate attention, and reforming an economy that works for some, but not all.

We have made some progress on these critical issues. I am especially proud that we were able to provide unprecedented resources to keep Americans from being evicted during the pandemic and to provide state and local governments with resources to aid those experiencing homelessness. However, I also feel that there is not enough urgency dispatching those funds and dealing with crises that need attention now.

This 2022 election will be a pivotal moment not only for our country but right here in Oregon. We will be electing a new governor, a new Congressional district representative, and we have important city and county elections up and down the ballot. There will be many opportunities for us to investigate candidates who share our values. All of us need to partner with those who will be our local elected leaders to deliver on the changes that we want to see.

Over the course of the next few months I will be sharing with you some of the things that I have been working on in Congress that I want to continue to fight for with your support.

The issues that we face are not easy to solve, but by working together, creating coalitions, and being willing to listen, roll up our sleeves and try new things, I have faith that we will make progress quicker than some people might think.

Once again, I want to thank you for your support and for coming on this journey with me. This is a moment that needs all of us!

Courage,

”Earl”
