This is why elections matter
Something transformational is happening across America.
Starting today, American families can rest easy that every child has the support they need to grow and thrive, thanks to the expanded child tax credits that Democrats in Congress passed and President Joe Biden signed into law.
From food to childcare, diapers to health care, these monthly checks are going to help cut child poverty in half across America.
Let's repeat that: we're cutting child poverty in half, starting today and with this single, common-sense law.
If you want to talk about the biggest differences between Democrats and Republicans, this is it:
Democrats voted for this badly-needed relief for families during the pandemic. Republicans in Congress? Not a single one joined us.
We can't forget that. Ever.
Over the next year and a half, we're going to hear a lot from Republicans rewriting this Congress, from false promises to outright lies.
We can point right back to today as perhaps one of the most concrete reasons yet why elections matter, and why we have to protect and expand our razor-thin majority and ensure more Democratic progressives come to Congress in 2022.
As always, courage.
